MC Lumoex Speaks Out on Rhymerz Reunion: This Is a Wake-Up Call for South Sudan’s Music Industry
Juba, South Sudan – Renowned South Sudanese music veteran and entertainer, MC Lumoex, has shared his candid thoughts following the highly anticipated reunion of legendary reggae/dancehall duo Rhymerz comprised of Kawaja Revolution and Saab Jay Strategy.
Reacting to the news via a comment seen by Juba TV, MC Lumoex did not mince words as he expressed both excitement and frustration over the duo’s past split and current comeback.
If they mess up again, they will die a natural death musically like Jay Family, he stated, referencing another group that faded from the scene. I hope they learn that they can’t do as individuals like some of us. They have to continue like Hardlife Avenue Stars, who have endured together no matter what.
Lumoex emphasized that the Rhymerz breakup was a key factor in the stagnation of South Sudan’s music industry, noting that many young artists and fans had looked up to them as role models. I don’t have kind words for them, he added, because as legends, many were looking up to them.
Despite his firm tone, MC Lumoex concluded his message on a hopeful note: “I pray for strength for them to move on musically, and for everlasting trust between them. Thanks and welcome back my favorite duo.
The Rhymerz, who first made their mark in 2007 and gained recognition across South Sudan and East Africa, are now back in the studio and releasing new music such as Bossa Whine and Burn Dem. Their return has already sparked optimism and renewed energy within the industry.
As fans and fellow artists continue to react, one thing is clear: the return of Rhymerz has reignited hope for a stronger and more united South Sudanese music scene.
