President Salva Kiir Mayardit has appointed Santo Akol Arech as his new Private Secretary and Personal Assistant, according to an executive order issued today on Monday.
Santo Akol takes over from Rou Ayii, who has been reassigned to the South Sudan Revenue Authority (SSRA) as Deputy Commissioner General.
The reshuffle is part of ongoing administrative adjustments within the presidency and key government institutions.
Akol, a long-time aide within the Office of the President, is expected to oversee presidential correspondence, streamline executive operations, and support the President’s day-to-day engagements.
Rou Ayii’s move to the SSRA places him at the center of one of the country’s most strategic revenue institutions.
Rou Ayii new role will focus on strengthening tax administration, improving compliance, and supporting government efforts to boost domestic revenue.
The presidency has not yet issued further details on the changes, but the appointments signal fresh realignments ahead of the upcoming political and economic programs.
