South Sudanese Comedian Amath Jok Released From Detention, Hospitalized in Juba

South Sudanese comedian Amath Jok has been released from detention and is currently receiving medical care at a hospital in Juba. Her admission follows emerging concerns about her health during the period she spent in custody.

Unverified reports circulating on social media suggest that Amath Jok may have been three months pregnant at the time of her arrest, with some sources alleging she may have suffered a miscarriage. Medical personnel have not publicly confirmed these claims but say she is being monitored as a precaution.

Amath Jok was detained approximately one month ago by the National Security Service. Allegations have surfaced online that her arrest was linked to directives attributed to Molana Josephine Adhet, an accusation made by Akuac Wol, who is undergoing medical treatment in Nairobi after sustaining a gunshot wound in a separate incident last month.

As of now, government authorities have not issued any official statement regarding the circumstances of Amath Jok’s arrest, her release, or her current medical condition.

Juba TV will continue to follow this developing story and provide updates as more information becomes available.
