ENTEBBE, MAY 11, 2026 — President of the Republic of South Sudan, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, on Monday held bilateral talks with Uganda’s President, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, aimed at strengthening relations between the two neighboring countries.

The discussions focused on political and economic cooperation, regional peace and security, and ways to deepen strategic partnership between Juba and Kampala.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration in key areas, including joint border security, road and railway infrastructure development linking the two countries, power connectivity, mutual support in regional and international forums, and cooperation on regional peace and security initiatives.

The meeting underscored the longstanding friendship, shared history, and strong cooperation between South Sudan and Uganda.
