South Sudan’s Trending Rapper, Young Boy The Best Boy, Speaks Out on Challenges in the Music Industry

Young Boy the Best Boy , one of South Sudan’s most popular and trending rappers, recently shared his thoughts on the struggles and differences he’s noticed in the music industry between South Sudan and Nigeria. According to the rising star, success in the Nigerian music scene can come from a single hit song, regardless of the language in which it’s performed. In contrast, he believes that in South Sudan, artists often face more criticism than support.

In an interview, Young Boy The Best Boy explained, “In Nigeria, one hit song can completely change your life, no matter what language you sing in. People support you for your talent. But in South Sudan, it feels like instead of receiving encouragement, many artists are criticized. There’s not enough support for local music, and sometimes it’s harder to break through.”

As one of the leading voices in the South Sudanese rap scene, his message is clear: support is key to the growth of the country’s music industry, and it’s time to recognize and nurture the talent that South Sudan has to offer.
