Juba, South Sudan July 3, 2025 In a powerful testimony of pain transformed into purpose, author and humanitarian Dominic Living Wawa is set to officially launch his debut memoir, “Growing Up Without My Parents: A Former Street Boy’s Mission to Change Lives,” this August 30th. The book offers a raw, compelling, and deeply personal journey of survival, resilience, and redemption.

The memoir, which took 29 months to complete, chronicles Dominic’s early years growing up alone in war-torn South Sudan without his parents. From enduring homelessness, hunger, and rejection, to battling the emotional scars of abandonment, Dominic’s story is a vivid reminder that the human spirit can rise above even the harshest realities.

But “Growing Up Without My Parents” is not merely a story of hardship it is a message of hope, purpose, and transformation. “This book is for young people, for fathers, for leaders,” Dominic shared. “It powerfully illustrates that broken lives can not only be rebuilt but also repurposed to serve others.”

The memoir takes readers from the dusty streets where Dominic once lived as a child, to the founding of an orphanage home for vulnerable children a lifelong dream born from his own suffering. Each chapter pulses with honesty, heartache, and ultimately, healing. Readers will laugh, cry, and walk away inspired by a man who refused to let his past define him.

Dominic’s bold call to action is also part of the book’s mission. “I believe this book has the potential to ignite change and inspire resilience in all who will read it,” he said. “I’m inviting partners and supporters to join me in making the August launch a success. If you are interested in collaborating or helping promote the book, please reach out via dominicliving94@gmail.com.”

Visually, the book cover features a haunting yet tender image of a young child symbolizing Dominic’s childhood being comforted, underscoring the theme of love and longing for parental care. Professionally designed, the cover evokes the emotional weight and spiritual depth of the narrative within.

At a time when South Sudan and many other post-conflict regions continue to grapple with the consequences of war, displacement, and family separation, Dominic’s story could not be more relevant. His words echo a universal truth: that even the most broken beginnings can lead to extraordinary destinies.

Dominic Living Wawa’s “Growing Up Without My Parents” is more than a memoir it is a movement. It is a beacon of hope to children on the streets, to struggling parents, and to anyone who has ever questioned whether their life matters. As the launch draws near, anticipation is building for what promises to be one of the most impactful literary releases of the year from the region.
