Diamond Platnumz Deletes Campaign Songs for President Samia Amid Rising Tensions

Diamond Platnumz Deletes Campaign Songs for President Samia Amid Rising Tensions DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania — Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz has reportedly deleted all 34 campaign songs he produced in support of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, following a wave of threats from angry citizens who vowed to burn down his Wasafi Studio and home. According to local reports, the award-winning artist has left the country and traveled to South Africa, officially citing medical reasons. However, many fans and observers believe his departure was motivated by concerns for his safety amid the growing unrest. The tension comes as nationwide protests continue to escalate. More than nine politicians from the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party have allegedly lost their properties, with angry protesters targeting and destroying several of their businesses. Authorities have yet to comment officially on the incidents, but social media in Tanzania has been flooded with videos and posts expressing frustration toward public figures seen as aligned with the government.
