‎Senior Presidential Envoy Adut Kiir Begins High-Level Diplomatic Engagements in South Africa

South Sudan’s Senior Presidential Envoy, Hon. Adut Kiir, has commenced a series of high-level diplomatic engagements in South Africa, aimed at deepening bilateral relations and opening new avenues for political, economic, and social cooperation between the two nations.‎‎

Hon. Adut Kiir held her first meeting with the Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, H.E. Paul Mashatile, where the two leaders discussed priority sectors that can drive mutual development. ‎

Their discussions centered on strengthening collaboration in mining, oil and gas, infrastructure development, agriculture, and tourism.‎‎

A major focus of the talks was the proposal to establish direct flights between Juba and major South African cities. ‎

The initiative is expected to boost medical travel, enhance trade and investment, and promote tourism opportunities for both South Sudanese and South African citizens.‎‎

As part of her broader mission, Hon. Adut Kiir also held discussions with senior officials of the African National Congress (ANC), attending a session of the party’s National Dialogue Commission. ‎

During the session, she delivered a message from President Salva Kiir Mayardit, emphasizing South Sudan’s commitment to Pan-Africanism, socioeconomic equality, and sustained regional solidarity.‎‎

Her visit marks an important step in strengthening South Sudan’s diplomatic footprint and advancing strategic partnerships within the African continent.‎
