A South Sudanese fashion brand, Gemeiza Royale Gallery, has pledged to gift a free suit to one of President Salva Kiir’s bodyguards after photos circulated online showing the officer wearing a torn suit during the President’s recent trip to Kampala.
In a statement shared on the company’s official social media page, Gemeiza Royale Gallery defended the bodyguard, praising his dedication and commitment to duty despite the condition of his clothing.
The statement noted that rather than mocking the officer, the public should recognize his discipline and focus while carrying out the important responsibility of protecting the President.
“His attention remained on his assignment and the safety of the President, showing true professionalism and loyalty to the country,” the statement read.
The company further said the incident demonstrates that committed and hardworking security officers still exist, especially those who continue serving the nation under difficult circumstances.
To appreciate his service and dedication, Gemeiza Royale Gallery announced that it will provide the bodyguard with a brand-new suit as a sign of respect and recognition for his commitment.
