Aweil Man Reportedly Takes Wife to Court Over Her Facebook Dancing Videos

AWEIL, South Sudan — A marital dispute in Aweil has reportedly taken an unexpected turn, with a man allegedly heading to court after becoming unhappy with his wife’s dancing videos on Facebook.

According to reports circulating online, the husband believes some of his wife’s dance videos are too revealing and inappropriate, claiming that her social media activities have embarrassed him and damaged his public image.

The situation has reportedly reached the point where the husband would rather divorce than keep scrolling past the videos.

The woman, who was reportedly previously associated with the popular “God Gang” group in Aweil, is now at the center of a social media debate over marriage, personal freedom and what couples should be allowed to post online.

Social media users have been asking the big question: “Can a Facebook dance video really bring a marriage to court?”

The couple is reportedly expected to appear before the court as they seek to resolve the dispute.

Juba TV has not independently verified the allegations, and the views attributed to either party should not be treated as established facts.
